Damage Control Products was formed in 2007 to manufacture and market the patent pending JerkStopper™ line of Cable Retention Devices. The JerkStopper™ addresses the root cause of a very high percentage of the AC power pin problems found on so many laptop computers. The JerkStopper™ addresses the problem by providing strain relief for the cable thus reducing the connector damage from the day-in and day-out pulling and tugging on the cable.

Initial market reaction to the JerkStopper™ from both the retail public and laptop repair specialists has been excellent considering the short time the product has been available and the miniscule advertising budget.

Available now are a series of individual cable retention devices (CRDs) for small cable strain relief or retention or routing. Each of these devices utilize the (patent pending) JerkStopper adjustable cable clamp as the basis for solving a variety of small cable retention or routing problems.

The RJ Series CRD provides small cable strain relief or retention or routing using an available or unused industry standard RJ11 or RJ 45 port. The RJ series devices are positive locking strain relief or tension control devices. JerkStopper adjustable jaw will clamp cables from 3.5mm (9/64) to 8.5mm (21/64) diameter.

The USB Series CRD provides small cable strain relief or retention or routing using an available or unused industry standard USB port. The USB series devices are not positive locking strain relief or tension control devices and will release from USB socket under load. The JerkStopper Adjustable jaw will clamp cables from 3.5mm (9/64) to 8.5mm (21/64) diameter.

Lanyard Mounted CRD provide small cable strain relief or retention or routing for non-standard or ad-hoc applications via 0.25 width nylon web strap mounted adjustable cable retention device. Lanyards available in 6” (152mm), 8” (50mm) and 10” (253mm) lengths. The JerkStopper adjustable jaw will clamp cables from 3.5mm (9/64) to 8.5mm (21/64) diameter.

Shock Cord Mounted CRDs provide small cable strain relief or retention for non-standard or ad-hoc applications via adjustable cable clamping jaw mounted on 9/64” Shock cord. Available in 6” (152mm), 8” (50mm) and 10” (253mm) lengths. The JerkStopper adjustable jaw will clamp cables from 3.5mm (9/64) to 8.5mm (21/64) diameter.

Adjustable Web Strap Mounted CRDs provide small cable strain relief or retention for non-standard or ad-hoc applications via adjustable clamping jaw mounted on 3/8” wide adjustable web strap. Available in 4” (101mm) and 6” (152mm) lengths. Ideal for non-standard or ad-hoc cable retention applications. The JerkStopper adjustable jaw will clamp cables from 3.5mm (9/64) to 8.5mm (21/64) diameter.

Permanent Mount CRDs provide flat surface adjustable cable retention jaws that can be mounted as required in a variety of positions or situations. The JerkStopper adjustable jaw will clamp cables from 3.5mm (9/64) to 8.5mm (21/64) diameter. Unit can be affixed with epoxy or Cyanoacrylate based gelatin bonding adhesive.
